My heart goes out to my poor Mum, June. A woman who has never done a days harm to anyone and deserves peace and good fortune for all of her efforts in life thus far.
Well, as I may have mentioned, Mum is trying to move house. The family estate at Milton Road in Waterloo has done its job over many years but now Mum wants to return to her own spiritual home of Southport and enjoy her retirement in a lovely little flat. Not too much to ask eh?
Well, yes it is actually....
Mum has now sold her house on 2 separate occasions only to be shafted by the potential buyers who pull out without any regard for the person selling the property.
The system is all wrong. You make an offer, the offer is accepted, the buyer gets a surveyors report, you renegotiate the price if needed and arrange funds and then you can pull out right up until the day you buy the house and sign the dotted line. It is so wrong, all of the cards are stacked for the buyer without protecting the seller.
I suggest that the seller should get the surveyors report in advance and present it as part of the initial house viewing. Then, if an offer is made, a legal document should be signed offering the seller protection in the event that the prat of a buyer wants to pull out.
Perhaps if this was adopted, buyers would think twice before utterly wasting other peoples time.

Mick, one thing I said to Mum was that supposed buyer should've had proof of funds before the estate agent would even entertain them with a viewing? Instead we've had last month wasted by these vermin, because that's all they are.

Man.. what a crock of shi*t! In Australia, it is the opposite, the SELLER has all the rights - and the buyer doesn't even get a look in without pre approved/viewed finance. And once it's agreed, it's agreed - no pulling out!!! Well you can, but you lose HEFTY deposit that goes to the seller! What a JOKE!

I could not agree more with you Numsi. Everything in this country works in favour of scumbags and its at the expense of the taxpayer (me) or the honest and hardworking (June).

Regulation is required at very basic levels.
For once, I almost agree with Andy. You should not even be able to enter a house until you have funds to potentially buy the place. So many people just waste their weekends viewing people place for nothing more than voyeuristic pleasure of posh shopping!!
Its time to take control back, sort out the housing fiasco, sort out the fact that british companies are too expensive in their own country because of what we have done with immigratrion and take it all back!!!

The reason British companies are too expensive is because our cousins in the far east are making every kind of consumable for very little.
You know the score, but here's an example from my own world...
We buy in metal washers to sell on. One of our regular suppliers charges us 42p per 1000, and we know they're made in China, yeh?
Another supplier quoted us, for the same item, £3-44 per 1000. Reason being our Oriental friends haven't the shipping capacity to get these over (there's a queue), so the supplier is going to a British manufacturer (one of the very, very few left....) whose overheads are much more.
To get British companies on an even keel to compete, we'd have to have our wages (and therefore our standard of living) cut to ribbons and all employment regulation booted out. Thatcher did a lot of that anyway, bitch.
Immigration is not the problem, if anything it's a warped kind of solution. Polish workers will happily take the minimum wage.
